You can obtain your license as a pharmacy technician trainee or as a full pharmacy technician. To apply as a full pharmacy technician, you must have earned your PCTB certification.

Basic Pharmacy Technician Requirements in Arizona

If you are applying as a trainee technician (without a PTCB certificate), the following is required

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be of good moral character
  • Provide proof of US residency (if you are not a citizen, provide proof that you are eligible to work in the US)
  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent
  • Submit application fee of $46 (application fee is not refundable)

If you are applying as a full technician (has earned PTCB certificate), make sure you have the following:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be of good moral character
  • Provide proof of PCTB certification (either PTCB certificate, PTCB wall card or letter of passing score from the PCTB)
  • Provide proof of US residency (if you are not a citizen, provide proof that you are eligible to work in the US)
  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent
  • Submit application fee which is prorate depending on the month you apply. The amount varies between $52 and $19 (application fee is not refundable).

Training Requirements

While there is no formal educational requirement to register, after receiving your registration certification, you must complete 3 hours of continuing education on an annual basis with one of the 3 hours in live presentation format.

Certification Requirements

To apply as a pharmacy technician, you must have your PTCB certification.
